Obituary

Douglas (Tank) Brent Tongish, 72, passed away on Wednesday July 27, 2022 in Goodland, KS.

Doug was born on November 7, 1949 in St. Francis, KS to Harold and Joan (Hopkins) Tongish. He grew up in McDonald, KS. He attended school all 12 years at McDonald grade and McDonald Rural High School.

On April 12, 1980, he married Mary C. Cunningham at Tiede Farms in Goodland, KS.

He worked at Great Western Sugar Beet Factory many years, before moving to Helena Chemical. He retired from Helena Chemical at age 65. He spent his retirement years fishing, camping and riding his Harley. His heath in the past few years had failed him. He enjoyed talking and visiting with his many friends and family.

Preceding him in death is his wife Mary Tongish, his father Harold Tongish, and his grandparents Herman and Catherine Tongish and Ellis and Olga Hopkins.

He is survived by his mother Joan (Hopkins) Tongish of Atwood, KS. Sister Cheryl Jo Beamgard (Richard) of Detroit, MI, Brother Micheal Andrew Tongish (Diana) of Atwood, KS, stepdaughter Jamie (Cody) Mattheyer (Preston) of Wakeeney, KS. Granddaughters Mikayla (Cody) Martin (Maleeke) and Katelyn Cody, Great-Granddaughters, Mikiah and Maelyn Martin.
