The Piano Brothers

Lawrence “Larry” Swartz, 68, left this life for his new eternal life on August 23, 2017 at the Shawnee Mission Medical Center in Shawnee Mission, KS.  Larry was born March 20, 1949 to Ernest and Dema Swartz.

He graduated from Weskan High School in 1967 and received a Diesel Mechanics certificate from Northwest Kansas Vo-Tech, Goodland, KS.

Larry worked on the farm with his parents and grandparents until he moved to Denver in 1989.  In Denver he had several different jobs.  He was employee of the month several times at Office Depot.  In 2012 he moved to Overland Park, KS to be closer to his sisters.

Larry was a friend to anyone he met.  An aunt once said he brought a breath of fresh air into a room when he entered.  He enjoyed movies, books and had recently started painting.  He loved his cat Marilyn and told everyone about her.

He is survived by his sisters Colleen Ziegelmeier and her husband Lynn of St. Mary, KS and Lucinda Swartz of Kansas City, MO, two nephews Brian and Kyle Ziegelmeier, and a host of family and friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Frank and Lola Goodwin and Hugh and Myrtle Swartz and sister Dana Ann.
